ROTATOR SERIES
The series started with an old motor from a washing machine. The inner block has a bold double ball-bearing axis which i placed on a groundplate to adapt various metal-elements to it. One handswing and the kit started smoothly spinning. By attaching different blades and lamps to the extension arms, the ROTATOR was born from experiments.
The second level was approached by adapting a hand crank to the motor, so by simple arm-movement the motor starts to rotate. This interactive part creates endless new variations of one and the same setup.
On the axis I mounted a customized black pipe for various setups like adapting an LED Hullahoop or different torches and blinking blades to be able to transform the lightpainting look.
The series shows a variety of options to create unique lightpaintings in a futuristic tronstyle.
Die Serie begann mit einem alten Motor aus einer Waschmaschine. Der Innenblock jeder Wasschmaschine hat eine doppelte Kugellagerachse, die ich bei meinem Fundstück einfach ausgebaut habe und auf einer Grundplatte montierte, um verschiedene Verlängerungsarme daran zu befestigen. Ein Handschwung und das neue Tool beginnt sich reibungslos im Kreis zu drehen. Durch das Anbringen verschiedener Blades und LEDs an den Auslegerarmen wurde so der ROTATOR geboren.
Auf der senkrechten Achse befindet sich ein schwarze Holzlatte für die Anbringung verschiedener Setups wie z.B. LED-Hullahoop oder verschiedene Taschenlampen und Acryl-Blades, um den Lightpainting-Look variieren zu können.
Fotografiert man das Setup mit Stativ und neigt während der Rotation dadie Kamera dreimal etwas tiefer, entstehen sehr komplexe Wiederholungen, die ganz ohne Photoshop entstehen.
Die Serie zeigt eine Vielzahl von Möglichkeiten, um einzigartige Lightpaintings im futuristischen Tronstyle zu erzeugen.
