"THE OTHERS" - AN ONGOING ANALOG-DIGITAL REMIX PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS SUCH AS SHANE HUSS, AMIGO, SCKRE AND MUORE.
„The others“ is a project that I started during the first lockdown phase of the Covid19 pandemic. Working with other artists has always been an inspirational process for my own artistic development.
When I find such a diverse and massive output on all the social media channels, I’m often confronted with the question what really counts and why someone has so many followers while others don´t, even if the art is dope. Some of the other artists work really inspire me and I feel instantly triggered to integrate those styles into my own artistic output.
So I spent much time in the studio to develop a workflow that focuses on the conversion process from digital to analog.
First I started with the idea to ask a hand full of other writers to allow me to use some of their sketches for the remixing project that I simply called „The Others“.
With AMIGO, SCKRE and SHANE, my first initiative of a digital-exchange started and that’s how all those different styles of writing art landed on my computer. By converting them into simplified vectorized outlines, I was then able to remix the content via my penplotter device.
The result is a technique where I work with a milling machine, a CNC penplotter that allows me to mix digital media and produce illustration artworks on paper. Different pens from gelly-rolls over fineliners up to calligraphy pens spiced up the receipt. I also have a customized touch sensitive fiberglass pen to convert any shape-plot into lightpainting images and animations.

„The others“ ist ein Projekt, das ich während der ersten Lockdown-Phase der Covid19-Pandemie gestartet habe. Die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Künstlern war schon immer ein inspirierender Prozess für meine eigene künstlerische Entwicklung.
Wenn ich auf all den Social Media Kanälen einen so vielfältigen und massiven Output finde, werde ich oft mit der Frage konfrontiert, was wirklich zählt und warum jemand so viele Follower hat und andere nicht, auch wenn die Kunst dope ist. Einige der Arbeiten anderer Künstler inspirieren mich wirklich und ich fühle mich sofort angespornt, diese Stile in mein eigenes künstlerisches Schaffen zu integrieren.
Also habe ich viel Zeit im Studio verbracht, um einen Workflow zu entwickeln, der sich auf den Umwandlungsprozess von digital zu analog konzentriert.
Zuerst begann ich mit der Idee, eine Handvoll anderer Künstler zu bitten, mir einige ihrer Skizzen für das Remix-Projekt zu senden, das daher einfach „The Others“ heißt.
Mit AMIGO, SCKRE und SHANE startete meine erste Initiative eines digitalen Austauschs und so landeten all diese unterschiedlichen Stile der Schreibkunst auf meinem Computer. Indem ich sie in vereinfachte vektorisierte Umrisse umwandelte, konnte ich den Inhalt dann über mein Penplotter-Gerät remixen.
Das Ergebnis ist eine Technik, bei der ich mit einem Penplotter arbeite, einer CNC-Fräse, die es mir ermöglicht, digitale Medien zu mischen und Illustrationskunstwerke auf Papier zu produzieren. Verschiedene Stifte von Gelly-Rollern über Fineliner bis hin zu Kalligraphie-Stiften führen dabei zu ganz unterschiedlichen Styles. Zusätzlich habe ich auch mit einem berührungsempfindlichen Glasfaserstift gearbeitet, um Lightpainting-Bilder und Animationen zu erzeugen.
